So, since everyone here in Portland seems to have some crazy obsession with the bridges, I have decided to join the crowd and launch a full on photo-documentation project of each individual bridge. I hope to reach bridges well known and well hidden in and around the city.
This brisk winter day offered me the perfect opportunity to investiaget the bridge that stole my heart as soon as I moved here: The Saint Johns Bridge. This bridge lies further North along the Willamette River than any other bridge and has a Gothic Cathedral appearance. It is the tallest bridge in Portland with 400 foot tall towers! It is also the only suspension bridge in the entire city. Today I captured the bridge from the ground at Cathedral Park that surrounds both sides of the bridge on the East side and offers a beach front! I plan to brave the pathway along the road on the bridge another day.
