Lindsay and Ario recently moved to town from Kentucky, but had spent many vacation days in beautiful Bellingham before the made the leap. When the pandemic hit, their plans took a few twists and turns, but they eventually made it to the new city they would call home and started searching for their own little slice of Bellinghome. After some time searching and realizing that the market is especially crazy right now, they landed at this absolutely stunning and incredibly unique home off Chuckanut Drive. They immediately fell in love with the space, the quirks and charming oddities of the house, and especially the amazing views of the bay off the back deck. When they asked if I’d be open to photographing them there, it was a quick and certain ABSOLUTELY YES!
I really wanted to capture the house in a thorough and creative way, while still bringing out the personalities of the couple. We started in the loft, headed down the circular staircase to the main living area and bedroom before heading out to the porch and the cliffside pathways down the side of the mountain and ended in their kitchen. As our final piece of the session, Lindsay and Ario taught me how to make Noon Panir Sabzi, a common Persian appetizer or breakfast. The name literally means bread, cheese and greens in Farsi and IT WAS SO GOOD. There are tons of different common ingredients you can use to make this little snack, but we used mint, cucumber, honey, cheese, nuts and this deliciously thin bread to put it all on!
I love any opportunity to work in a new and really different space. This session was so much fun and it’s been wonderful to make some new friends <3
