Rebecca is an incredible local author having written The Unfurling Frond and My Place in the Spiral and a co-edited three books, including Philadelphia Reflections: Stories from the Delaware to the Schuylkill. Rebecca offers writing seminars, coaching and editing services and she reached out for help in capturing some new branding and headshot photography to use on her website. It’s SO important to have updated, professional headshots that align with your business and personality in order to present your authentic self to your target audience!
Rebecca and I had our Strategy Session, included in all headshot + branding session bookings, about a week before her session. I like to do these within about 30 days of the session or less so that everything we discuss is fresh in our minds on photoshoot day and to give my clients time to collect any discussed items like attire and props. We agreed that the session should take place in her beautiful home library and started scheming on simple props to have on hand like coffee mugs, favorite books and her typewriter. We discussed clothing colors and options, talked furniture items we would be able to utilize and shot list details to be sure that I knew the full scope of the project before arriving onsite. You can read more about what to expect and how to prepare for headshot sessions here!
When I arrived, Rebecca was already prepared and ready to go in her first outfit, the space had been tided up and her husband was ready with treats on hand for the few shots we knew we wanted to get with her sweet furbaby. Thanks to our thorough Strategy Session, we were able to be efficient which allowed for a variety of poses, backdrops and outfits.
Check out some of my other headshot sessions! I loved working with Joel of Simler Sound, Mary of Marygold Tales and Kevin Coleman of Seafeast just to name a few!
