Alluvial Farms was the first farm to hire me to photograph the entire process of setting up their dream farm. I met them before construction on the yurt they live in on the property, before the barn to house the pigs had ever started and long before the pigs had ever even arrived! The owners of Alluvial are kind, generous and incredibly devoted to providing the best pork possible. As their own site says: “Alluvial Farms raises heritage breed pastured pigs on organic pastures. Pigs have constant access to the outdoors as well as a big airy barn where they can nest down and stay cool in the summer, warm in the winter. We source piglets from a local breeder in Spanaway who meets a high standard of humane animal handling.”
It’s so clear how much they care about their pigs and providing them with comfort, food, water and the freedom to roam! We are working together on an on-going basis, but this session was specifically to highlight the progess they had made on their dream farm- yurt, start to a barn and little piggies! We even got some shots of them, doing their thing and loving their pigs. Plus, we took their delicious product, styled it and created a little recipe for them to recommend to their customers. YUM.
If you’re looking for natural, fresh, local pork- I really can’t recommend Alluvial Farms enough. Support your local farmers!
