Last year my husband and I took a cooking class with Andrea of Ravioli Experience- an AirBNB Experience I booked for the two of us as a surprise! Andrea grew up in Italy, owned his own restaurant in Seattle for 5 years and has been teaching classes for quite some time. This class was all about learning to roll out and cook your own colorful ravioli using colored dough died with natural elements. You can check out some photos of the class from my previous blog post here! As it says at the end of that post- I fell deeply in love with the cake Andrea made us for our post cooking feast. This Orange Almond cake is absolutely divine. It’s soft and moist and FULL of flavor, but not overly sweet. I made it for the first time last week and can’t wait to make it again. As I was photographing the cake in my home studio space using natural light the PNW weather decided to change rather quickly- as it does. So, I had the chance to photograph this cake in both even diffused light as well as direct sun. Which do you prefer?
A little behind the scenes look at what my studio setup was like this day!
