Zach reached out to me a few months before this surprise proposal to start the planning process. Zach and Gabby were living in different locations during this time, so there were some logistics that needed to be sorted out to be sure that Gabby, and all their friends and family, would be available for the big day. Zach new he wanted to propose on the Western Washington University campus in the classroom where they first met and with the help of their favorite professor, we were able to get access to the room and decorate it before she arrived. He had come up with a sneaky, believable fib to get her on campus and while we were inside, their friends and family gathered outside the building to congratulate them! Gabby was completely shocked and it was a total honor to be there for the big moment.
Once the couple had taken a few moments to themselves, we met the group outside for hugs, tears and laughs before heading right into engagement photos there on campus. The energy was palpable and it wasn’t hard to pull huge smiles and big emotions out of these two! Once we’d spent a little time at WWU, Zach had chosen several of their favorite spots around town to hit including Boulevard Park, Makeworth Market and Schweinhaus Biergarten! Each of these locations offered something different from the classic PNW look at the park to the modern, sleek interiors and fun props at the coffeeshop and beer garden!
