Are you getting excited about hosting friends and family for the holidays? One of my favorite things to do for guests is craft a fun charcuterie board. There is all sorts of inspiration on Pinterest and I really love this charcuterie board book, but below are some little tips I like to keep in mind when I’m crafting a board!

Incorporate Different Shapes!
A variety of shapes gives your board interest and character. Cheese is something that’s easy to cut into varying shapes from sticks to triangles or cubes! Play around with different cracker shapes, varying shapes and sizes of bowls, and even cut your fruit and veggies into shapes! You can also see that I took my hard salami and ruffled it a bit by folding it in half twice and then stuffing it in various places around the board. I love how this looks and the texture it brings to the overall look!
2. Create Angles and Lines
Think about using the different lines in your varying items to create movement throughout your board. Here I chose to have the cheese point in directly towards the big feature of this board- the pomegranate! Think of this lines as little arrows leading your guest’s eye around the beautiful spread in front of them.
3. Think Sweet + Salty
For this board I chose to add a pop of pomegranate!! I loved the beautiful rich color, but I also wanted to throw some sweetness in there. Other things like apples, grapes, or even chocolates are all fair game when it comes to boards. Candied nuts are also a lot of fun and add a little crunch!
Ta Da! Just a few little tricks like this and you’ll have your friends oohh-ing and ahh-ing in no time.
