Charles and I took a weekend away to Lummi Island to celebrate our six year wedding anniversary and it was magical. We stayed at this fantastic Airbnb just a few minutes from the ferry with panoramic views of the water, a beautiful yard and deck for us to enjoy and a very welcoming and well equipped space. We had everything we needed to cook at home, enjoy the private beach on the property, relax in the two person jacuzzi tub and explore the island! Not to mention the gorgeously rich sunrises and sunsets we got to see each day. Even though Lummi Island is only a short hour trip from our home in Bellingham, we always leave feeling rejuvenated and with our adventure cup filled to the brim!
We spent most of the weekend relaxing and playing at Sunset Beach, but we did get to try this very small, local wine tasting spot and had the BEST time chatting with the owners and enjoying their beautiful property. Highly recommend this if you’re stopping by the island. We’ve been out to the island many times in the past and have always loved biking the island, enjoying Legoe Bay Winery (which sadly, has now closed), hanging out at Church Beach and grabbing a bite to eat at the Beach Store Cafe right off the ferry! There are also several artists that live out on the island that will have their shops open from time to time or pick up some fresh produce and goodies from the farm stands.
Enjoy some photos below of our weekend fun and if you’re as in love with those sunrise photos as I am, feel free to check them out in the shop! As always, feel free to reach out if you’re traveling and need recommendations!
