We’ve been to Orcas Island many times over the years, but were first introduced to it by our friends Shayna and Shaunn who met on the island while working together at Camp Orkila. They fell in love with each other and the island and loved sharing it with us whenever we could all make it out. It’s a beautiful place and we have so many wonderful memories here thanks to them.
Shayna and Shaunn have been some of our best friends for nearly a decade and when they asked us to be a part of this incredibly small and intimate day in their favorite place to be together we were obviously thrilled- and ready to party 😉 Charles took on the role of officiant, they had their best friends fly in from the far reaches of the world and I got to photograph the occasion. It was a perfect day on the island for their Shmurphy Ceremony. We all trekked through the high tide to the small island right outside of downtown where they tied the knot. Luckily Charles brought his most subtle handkerchief along which was definitely put to good use.
I am constantly delighted by the number of people that trust me to capture such special moments, but it always feels even more special when it’s the people you love most. Love you both, Shmurphys. xoxo.
Great post, much appreciate the time you took to write this.
