For months I had been brainstorming ways to photograph some kids in their element of play doing something they already loved to do that involved a series of props. When Leah reached out to me about the Donut Shop that was frequently played in their house- I knew this was the perfect opportunity. These sweet cousins were so excited to play Donut Shop and had no idea that REAL donuts were awaiting them once we’d spent some time getting comfortable together and playing with the set of play donuts they are used to using. They sold donuts to each other, played and stacked and pretended to eat… and then we busted out the goods. Some of my favorite shots from this session are right at the end- faces full of sugar-y goodness and cheers over a table full of their favorite treats.
