There’s something so magical about being part of a surprise proposal. The planning, the nerves, the anticipation—it’s a whirlwind of emotions, and I get the honor of capturing it all. That was exactly the case with Owen and Caelli’s engagement session at Clark’s Point along Chuckanut Scenic Drive.
Owen reached out a few weeks ahead of time with such thoughtful questions and details about his plan. He wanted a beautiful, outdoorsy proposal, and Clark’s Point was the perfect spot—just a short walk down a trail to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the water. We mapped out every detail: where Owen would stand, where I’d be to capture the moment, and even backup plans in case of rain. (Spoiler: the weather couldn’t have been more perfect!)
On the day of, there was excitement in the air and just a little bit of nervous energy. Owen and Caelli parked at the trailhead, and with a few quick steps down to the viewpoint, the magic happened. Owen popped the question, and Caelli’s reaction—pure joy, laughter, and happy tears—was everything anyone could hope to capture in a moment like this.
After the proposal, we spent a little time taking some relaxed, natural photos of the two of them together. I love these moments most of all—when the excitement settles just enough for couples to breathe, laugh, and soak in this new chapter together. Clark’s Point provided the perfect backdrop, with its sweeping views and soft, golden light.
Working with Owen and Caelli was such a joy—not just because of the stunning scenery, but because of the thoughtfulness and love they brought into every part of the day. Surprise proposals are always such a special kind of session, and I’m so grateful I got to be there to document this unforgettable moment for them.
Congratulations again to Owen and Caelli! I can’t wait to see all the love and laughter this next chapter brings. 💛
