11 Years of Best of the Northwest + A New Look for KMP
There are some milestones that make you stop for a minute and really take them in. This is definitely one of them.
I’m incredibly excited to share that Katheryn Moran Photography has been named Best Photographer in the Northwest for 2026! And this year marks my 11th year receiving this award.
Eleven years. ❤️🧡
After more than 16 years in business, that number feels pretty incredible to say. And while the award has my name on it, it really feels like a celebration of the people who have supported KMP and helped shape it into what it is today.
The families who have invited me back year after year as their kids grow. The couples who have trusted me with their weddings and milestones. The businesses and brands who have brought me into their worlds. The clients who have sent their friends my way, recommended me to others and continued to show up for KMP over the years.
You have given me the opportunity to photograph so many incredible people and chapters of life, and that is something I never take for granted.

And what better way to celebrate 11 years of Best of the Northwest and 16+ years of KMP than with a new look for a new chapter?
Meet the New KMP
After 16+ years, it felt like time for a rebrand.
Not because the old KMP didn’t feel like me, but because I’ve grown, my business has grown, and the way I photograph and work with people has grown too.
So, meet the new Katheryn Moran Photography logo!
There was one very important element that was never up for discussion: the orange chair.
That chair has been part of KMP from the beginning. It has shown up in my branding for years and has become a little symbol of the personality behind the business.
It represents so much of what I love about photography: creativity, color, personality and making something that feels distinctly you.
So, obviously, it stayed.
But the rest? It was time for a little refresh.
The new identity feels bolder, cleaner and more colorful, while still feeling completely like me. It feels like a fresh reflection of the photographer and business KMP has become over the past 16+ years.

Come Sit. Stay Awhile.
Along with the new logo comes a new tagline:
Come Sit. Stay Awhile.
And this might be my favorite part.
The orange chair has always been an invitation of sorts. Come sit down. Get comfortable. Let’s make some pictures.
But the tagline is about more than a chair.
It’s about the experience I want people to have when they work with me.
I want my sessions to feel relaxed and comfortable. I want you to be able to show up as yourself, whether you’re stepping in front of my camera for family photos, professional headshots, a branding session or your wedding day.
And I want KMP to be a place you can return to.
Maybe today you’re here for a headshot. A few years from now, maybe it’s your family. Or your growing business. Or a new brand. Or something completely unexpected that neither of us could have predicted.
After all these years, some of my favorite clients are the ones who have become part of the KMP story over and over again.
Come sit. Stay awhile. Come back when life changes. I’ll be here.

A New Chapter for Katheryn Moran Photography
One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that no two years have looked exactly the same.
Over the years, I’ve photographed families, couples, weddings, businesses, brands, food, products, spaces, graduates, milestones and all the wonderfully random things that have come my way.
I’ve photographed in homes, offices, restaurants, studios, outdoors and everywhere in between. I’ve worked with longtime clients and people who met me five minutes before we started taking pictures.
And I’m still excited about what comes next.
This rebrand isn’t about starting over. It’s about moving forward with a brand that feels more aligned with who I am and where KMP is headed.
It’s a new look, but the heart of the business is still the same.
11 years of Best of the Northwest.
16+ years of Katheryn Moran Photography.
Same Katy. Same orange chair. New look. ❤️🧡
And now, a new invitation:
Come Sit. Stay Awhile.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🎉
