If you’ve ever met the crew at Julian & Co. Real Estate, you know they’re one of the most fun, high-energy teams in town. From the moment I stepped into their office, I could tell this session was going to be packed with laughter, personality, and plenty of champagne.

A Versatile Collection for Every Kind of Marketing
Hannah Anderson, who leads the marketing team, had one main goal for their session: versatility. She wanted photos that could live everywhere, from social media to print ads, without ever feeling repetitive.
“We’ve used the images on all of our social platforms, our website, Google, magazines, and booklets,” Hannah said. “The high quality allows me to use them in a multitude of ways, cropping and resizing them as needed. The variety in our photos—different locations, outfits, groupings, actions—makes it so easy for me to use in so many ways.”
That kind of flexibility is exactly why I love lifestyle branding sessions. When we shoot in multiple settings and capture real interactions, you end up with images that work beautifully across every channel.

Photos That Spark Conversation and Connection
When we planned the session, we wanted to create photos that reflected Julian & Co.: warm, playful, and approachable. And it worked. Their audience has noticed in a big way.
“People love our photos,” Hannah told me. “I’ve received such good feedback about our shots on the couch with the champagne and the one of us jumping onto the couch with the Bellingham Herald in the background. They’ve been fun conversation starters. The people who know us say the photos perfectly reflect our personality and energy, and those who don’t know us yet always comment on how warm and fun the team seems.”
When your brand visuals make people smile and start conversations, that’s marketing magic.

Authentic, Playful, and Human
One of my favorite things about this team is how down-to-earth they are. In a fast-paced industry like real estate, it’s easy to default to polished, corporate imagery, but Julian & Co. wanted to highlight the human side of what they do.
“Our images have really helped re-establish the playfulness, honesty, and very human personality of our team,” Hannah explained. “They soften interactions and invite connection with our target clients.”
That authenticity is what sets them apart. Their photos feel real because they are real! Genuine laughter, spontaneous moments, and that easy camaraderie that makes clients feel instantly comfortable.

The Team’s Reaction
The entire shoot was full of energy and good humor, but Hannah shared one detail that made me beam.
“All of the men were so complimentary of the way you led the group, directed us, and leaned into the fun while herding the cats,” she said. “Their collective praise for your professionalism, skill, and warmth was on repeat the whole shoot!”
When the photos were delivered, the team couldn’t have been happier.
“Everyone has expressed how the photos are super fitting and really look excellent. The colors just pop, and the branding naturally flows with the images. I hear so many compliments about how everyone looks in them, as well as how great the compositions are. The photos of the table with the coffee, laptops, and paint chips always get resounding compliments! Love love love them!”
Hearing that kind of excitement from a client makes all the hard work so worth it.

Why Branding Photos Beat Basic Headshots
As a photographer, I love a good headshot, but for marketing impact, lifestyle branding photos take things to the next level.
“Headshots present one static facet of a person, and that gets old quickly,” Hannah said. “Branding imagery is so much easier to connect with and breathes personality into the photos. As the marketing person, I would get bored if all I had to work with were headshots.”
Of course, headshots still play an important role, but it’s the storytelling images that really drive engagement.
“Our headshots are crucial in our ads and booklets, but it’s always in tandem with the branding photos,” Hannah explained. “The branding imagery pulls more of the weight when it comes to creating interesting, dynamic marketing that generates a response. I’ll always advise both individuals and teams to get lifestyle and branding sessions because they’ll be rewarded.”
Working with the Julian & Co. team was such a blast. Their enthusiasm, humor, and connection made every shot come alive. It’s always rewarding to see a team that genuinely loves what they do, and now they have the images to show it.
