It’s such a special thing when you get to know someone at the beginning of one chapter in their life… and then get to be there for so many of the chapters that follow. I’ve known Elyse since high school, and being able to photograph her and Jayson through so many big life moments has been such a gift.
I first photographed them for their engagement session near Seattle. I remember feeling the kind of easy, joyful love that just makes your heart happy to capture. Then came their wedding at Pacific Tower and Stemmler—a beautiful, emotional day full of laughter, family, and all the little moments that make a wedding feel so personal and real.
A few years later, they were expecting their first baby and I was SO excited to hear from them. Their maternity session at Little Squalicum Park was so sweet—You could feel the excitement and anticipation in the air on that bright, beautiful Pacific Northwest afternoon. Elyse’s glow, Jayson’s proud soon-to-be-dad energy, the way they looked at each other knowing a little person would be joining them soon—the joy was all over their faces. I was so happy they brought along their first baby, too – I love including pets!

Then came the newborn days. Those tiny yawns, sleepy cuddles, and squishy little cheeks—absolutely adorable. Avery was a perfect little angel and we were able to get lots of different posed shots, photos with Mom, Dad and her furry big brother!

Before you know it, the baby is rolling over, laughing, discovering the world… and we were back for six months. The curiosity and joy at this age is so fun to capture, and it’s such a reminder of how fast life moves.

And then, somehow, we were at the one-year session. One whole year of growth, giggles, and memories all rolled into one little person. I love milestone sessions because they’re not just about the photos—they’re about celebrating every little step of this amazing journey.

It’s been such a joy to be a part of Elyse and Jayson’s story, from engagement to wedding to maternity and all the baby milestones. Being able to watch a family grow and capture these moments for them is honestly one of the best parts of what I do. If you’re expecting and want to start a special relationship, get in touch!
