It feels impossible that somehow another year has slipped by, yet here I am looking back on how lucky I am for another 365 days of taking pictures of people, places, weddings, families, babies, products, food, pets and SO much more. After an undeniably difficult year in 2020, I had high hopes for 2021 and while I don’t know if things will ever go back to the “normal” we all knew and loved pre-pandemic, I am incredibly grateful for a year that included a whole lot more hugs, some more local traveling, tons of amazing online cooking classes, wonderful new and beloved returning clients and the opportunity to take the time to get clarity on what is really important to me.
One of my favorite things we really got into this year were online cooking classes. We took 6 total classes including a ramen making class, a Japanese Soufflé pancake class, a quick Thai stir fry class, a Sicilian cannoli making class, a Montreal style bagel making class and an Indian curry + naan making class! Most of these classes were taken through Airbnb Experiences and the instructors offer lots of other amazing class opportunities, too. We loved doing this at home so we could work together, learn to utilize the tools we have in our own kitchen and have a glass of wine while doing it 😉 Plus, it gave me the chance to pull everything into the studio for a few photos, too!
I had the chance to work with some new business clients this year including Happy Hippie Granola Bites, Cheesebelly Co, Rent Cranberry Sky Heirlooms, Blackdrop Coffeehouse, Skagit Valley Food Co-op, Golden Glen Creamery, Nuun Hydration, Columbia Hospitality and Hey Let’s Make Stuff! I also got to keep up with some of my long time favorites like Binyon Vision Center, Herbcrafter’s Tarot, Pine River Ranch, Jennifer Ryan Designs, Dream Dinners, Pozie by Natalie, Galloways Cocktail Bar, Fresh Space ReDesign, Greenhouse Home and Terramar Brewstillery, just to name a few. I truly can’t thank all of the amazing business owners that trust me year after year to capture their brand and business. It’s so much fun and I love watching other local business grow!!!
We took a few local trips this year to some of our favorite spots including Leavenworth (three times!) and Bend, Oregon, had a little staycation in Birch Bay, got out to Lummi Island for our anniversary and had a long weekend with our friends in Clinton, WA. We stayed in Snoqualmie for a long weekend, took a day trip out to Friday Harbor with San Juan Cruises and even made our way over to Ellensburg for Labor Day weekend. We’re hoping to hop a plane in 2022 and have some awesome adventures a little further from home <3
Lastly, I saw SO MANY beautiful families, babies and wedding days this year. THANK YOU for including me in so many memories and allowing me to capture them for you. I love my job and it’s because of all the amazing people I get to meet along the way. Thank you for making all of that possible <3
We got to hug friends and family, enjoy long days on the lake, hike in the PNW, walk at our favorite parks with Pyper, snuggle in our new king sized bed and heal from our miscarriage. Cheers, 2021! Thanks for bringing back a touch of the new normal and giving me lots to look forward to in 2022.
